PlatformSetup

Gemini

Gemini runs as a local agent only. There is no cloud or background Gemini in Coldtea, and there is no Coldtea connect screen for it. If you are looking for a place to add Gemini credentials in settings, there is not one, and that is expected.

Local setup

You set up Gemini by launching the gemini CLI in a pane. Coldtea does not manage Gemini's login. Gemini runs in the terminal exactly as it does outside Coldtea and handles its own sign-in there. If Gemini has never been configured on your machine, run it once in the pane and complete its prompt.

Coldtea only needs to find the gemini binary. If Gemini does not appear in the agent picker, install the CLI and confirm it runs in your own terminal (see Connect agents). Its install status is shown under Settings, then Agents.

No cloud credentials

Gemini has no API-key field, no subscription tile, and no entry in the cloud-run credential source. Cloud and background runs use Claude, Codex, or OpenCode. See Cloud agent credentials for those.
