Overview
A task gives agent work a place to start and a record to come back to. Use a task when the work has intent, a plan, a diff, checks, review comments, or a handoff between people and agents. A plain prompt is enough for a quick question. Because workflow states, plans, labels, and review steps are yours to shape, a task fits the way your team already works, so you can run agents quickly and still trust the record they leave behind.
A task board belongs to a TeaHouse and team. If you are looking at the wrong board, switch the TeaHouse or team before you create work. For how a team shares a board and moves work through review, see team workflows.

- Use tasks: the board, list and board views, creating a task, the task detail, and starting work from a task.
- Tasks, plans, and logs: the record model. Versioned plans, session logs, the activity feed, attachments, subtasks, and relations.
- Labels: create task labels, pick a color, assign them, and filter the board.
- Plan review: review an agent's plan, comment on the plan text, and approve.
To run a task on a hosted agent instead of a local pane, see cloud runs. If you are new to the task surface, start with use tasks.
