Linear
Connect Linear when your team wants Coldtea tasks and agent work to stay tied to Linear issues.
Linear is a team integration. It depends on TeaHouse access and a Linear workspace you can authorize.
What Linear connects
Once Linear is connected, Coldtea can:
- Bring issue context into Coldtea tasks by importing issues from a Linear team.
- Keep task state aligned through workflow-state sync, so moving a task in one system reflects in the other.
- Link review and agent activity back to the issue that started the work.
Which issues appear depends on the Linear workspace and team you authorize. A missing Linear action is usually an access question, not a local agent problem.
Before you connect
Check:
- You are in the right Coldtea TeaHouse.
- You can sign in to the right Linear workspace.
- Your Linear account has access to the team or issues you expect to use.
- Your team knows which system owns task state when sync is enabled.
That last point matters. If both systems can edit title, status, labels, or assignee, the team should agree which changes are expected to sync.
Connect Linear
The setup flow is:
- Open the Linear integration in Coldtea settings.
- Start the OAuth flow.
- Complete the browser handoff with the correct Linear account.
- Return to Coldtea and wait for the initial sync to finish.
- Open a known issue-linked task and confirm the issue link is present.
After connecting, give the initial sync time to finish before assuming an issue or task is missing.
Workflow-state sync
Coldtea maps Linear workflow states to its own task states. When sync is enabled, a task moving to a later state can reflect back to the linked Linear issue, and issue changes in Linear can reach the Coldtea task. Because both sides can move a task, decide which system your team treats as the source of truth for state.
If sync looks wrong
Check these first:
- You are viewing the expected TeaHouse and team.
- The Linear connection completed in the browser.
- The Linear account has access to the source issue.
- The issue belongs to a Linear team mapped to the Coldtea team, where that mapping is required.
- The task did not come from a different integration or a local-only source.
If a task came from Linear, keep review comments and implementation logs readable in Coldtea. The task is still the source of truth for the agent work you review in the app.
Security note
Linear access follows the connected Linear workspace and account permissions. Coldtea membership alone does not guarantee access to every Linear issue.
