Onboarding and tours

After setup, Coldtea can teach the workspace instead of making you read about it. An agent walks you through the main surfaces in a real terminal pane, and the app drops small hints where a feature is easy to miss.

Let an agent show you around

The new-pane composer offers a card, "Let an agent show you around". It takes about three minutes and runs inside a real terminal pane, driven by the agent you pick. The tour needs a local agent, so if none is installed or selected the card sends you to agent settings first.

During the tour, the agent highlights real parts of the interface with a moving spotlight, so you see what it is describing rather than reading about it.

To run it again later, use the "?" button next to the agent picker in the composer. If you skip the tour, a short "Need it later?" note points you back to that same button.

Home tour and empty-state tips

The self-driving home screen has its own short spotlight tour over its cards; it runs once and highlights where your daily brief, upcoming agent work, and live activity appear.

Where a surface is empty, Coldtea shows a small tip instead of a blank area, such as the composer suggesting how to split a pane. These are hints for genuinely useful actions, not a tour you have to finish. For the full keyboard map, see shortcuts.

Next: your first brew.
